On February 26, 2019 Library and Archives Canada announced that the 1926 census of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba is now available online for free with over 45000 digital images having been indexed in partnership with FamilySearch.
Apparently the tremendous growth of the prairie provinces was the reason for the half-cycle census' of 1906, 1916, and 1926.
Personally, I have several family lines move to the prairie provinces. Some were permanent moves, while others went west to work for a few years before returning to their home towns. The 1926 census data will help fill in a few gaps in my family tree.
